Description Of Practice
My approach to counselling is based on a recognised professional therapy known as 'Person-Centred'; which focuses on helping people to develop satisfying and fulfilling lives through the provision of an empathic, non-judgemental and empowering therapeutic relationship.
In short, the journey starts and finishes with you; I am there simply to facilitate and help you to find the real you; the one that is trying to get through the problems that are clouding the path and allow you to live your life.
'Person-Centred' therapy has proven to be effective in a treating a range of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress and adjustment to life events such as bereavement or divorce.
I have seen many people find themselves within the chaos of their circumstance and begin to live. If you would like to see this in your own life then I would be delighted to share in your experience and help you in your journey.
What clients have said about me: Whilst Sandra is a professional, qualified counsellor and supervisor, she is also a genuine and compassionate person. Her patience and intellect combined with a high intuitive sensing makes her stand out from many in the profession.
Because of Sandra’s person-centred counselling approach, clients feel safe enough to embark on their deep and frightening inner journey. Not only does she listen, but in a way she almost seems to experience the clients’ journey with them, and she is still able to offer an outsider's point-of-view. Just as her understanding is liberating of whatever clients want to bring, however large or small, her support, challenge and empathy is priceless. One client describes that “the impact on his life and his relationships, particularly his relationship with himself has been so powerful, he feels it has been the most important journey of his life."
