I regard therapy as a joint endeavour which aims to help people become free of certain patterns or responses that cause unhappiness. This can sometimes take time - and patience and courage - but those that are dedicated to seeking insight into the nature of their problems will never be disappointed. It is an honour to be part of this process. Every client deserves respect for seeking help with their problem, be it regarded as large or small. My approach is person-centered and, as such, I regard academic theories to be helpful as a guide. I believe that the person fits the theory not that the theory fits the person. It is my job as a therapist to help answer the question 'why' and to help individuals gain a greater self-knowedge in relation to their own unique experiences.
