My first career was in the corporate world. I graduated from the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy in 2001 having completed their 7 year course. The fact is, there's not been a time when we human beings are coping with so much pressure. We all too often find that we're on a treadmill of stress, unprepared to make the changes which might make things better - changes that could include work, family and relationships. I am particularly experienced in dealing with men and women coping in the corporate world as my former career was with a major Canadian Bank for 27 years. I am also experienced in dealing with life transitions, unhealthy relationships, depression, anxiety, expressing feelings, self-esteem, loss, and other challenges of simply being human. I start with the belief that we should work towards a society where professional therapy is not required, where we can be each other's support. This is a difficult goal to reach, so I work on helping my clients gain the best understanding they can on their journey to wellness. Additional Information My training is in psychodynamic therapy for individuals, a modality that fosters a close, open and ongoing working relationship between me and my clients. My training in couples work is based on Emotionally Focussed Couple Therapy (EFT), an approach founded on attachment theory. It places prime importance on the underlying emotions involved in couple interactions. Choosing a psychotherapist who can best relate to you is important to the success you will gain from the experience. So I offer a free initial consultation to meet and discover if my approach is right for you. My fees are reasonable and I have a sliding scale. I do not accept credit cards and am not covered by most insurance companies. I am gay-friendly and work with any ethnic or religious background.
